Muthoot Finance Empowers Inmates with Smart Library at District Jail, Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh

In a landmark initiative, Muthoot Finance has set up a state-of-the-art Smart Library under its CSR initiative in the District Jail, Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh for the reformation of prisoners. 

Under this project, 7 Library BookCase Almirah, 1 Desktop Computer with UPS, 1 Projector with Screen, 1 HP Printer and 1 PA System with 2 Wireless Microphone have been handed over to the District Jail Authority.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was conducted with the esteemed presence of Ms. Pragati, wife of the District and Sessions Judge, Kannauj; Ms. Lovely Jaiswal, Secretary of the District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) Kannauj; Mr. Mohammad Akaram Khan, Jail Superintendent; Mr. Dilip Kumar, Manager CSR CO(N); Mr. Mohit Mishra, AMBIC Kannauj Branch and more than 60 other attendees, including police officials, prisoners, staff, and volunteers.

The Smart Library will offer inmates access to technology and resources that can help them learn new skills, enhance their education, and prepare for successful reintegration into society upon their release. It will provide opportunities for digital literacy training, vocational skill development, and access to online educational materials.

This initiative aims to empower incarcerated individuals, enabling them to reintegrate into society as productive members, which will aid in rehabilitation and reduce crime rates.

The Jail Superintendent and inmates expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Muthoot Finance for this reformative initiative.
