PAN Card Application Form 49AA
PAN (Permanent Account Number) is a 10-digit alphanumeric number that is issued by the Indian Income Tax Department. Every tax-paying individual and business needs a PAN card, as it is used to track their monetary transactions and assess their tax liability. Foreign nationals and entities incorporated outside the country also need a PAN to make any kind of business investment or other financial transactions in India.
If you are also a foreign individual or business owner, you need to fill out Form 49AA in order to apply for a PAN card. Form 49AA is available at Muthoot Finance Branch.
Form Structure
The PAN application form 49AA is divided into different sections with multiple sub-sections. It has a total of 17 components, which are:
1. AO Code: In this field, you need to fill in information about your AO.
2. Full Name: Here, your complete name needs to be filled in along with the title such as Mr./Mrs./Ms.
3. Other Name: If you have ever been known by any other name, it needs to be mentioned in this field.
4. Gender: This field is only applicable to individuals. Tick the appropriate box.
5. Date of Birth: Here, you need to enter your Date of Birth (for individuals) and Incorporation/Agreement/ Partnership/Association of Person (for businesses).
6. Parents' Details: This field is applicable to individuals only. Here, you need to fill in the names of your father (mandatory) and mother (optional).
7. Address: Enter your complete address (home and office, both) in the given space.
8. Address for Communication: Enter the address that you want to be used for communication, i.e., home or office.
9. Telephone Number and Email Address: Here, fill in your mobile number and a valid email address. These details will be used to send regular updates regarding your PAN application.
10. Status of the Applicant: Tick the box next to the applicable status (Individual/HUF/Company/Partnership Firm etc.)
11. Registration Number: Enter the company’s registration number (applicable for businesses).
12. Country of Citizenship and ISD Code: Here, mention your country of citizenship and its ISD code.
13. Source of Income: In this field, choose the source of income (i.e. Salary/Income from Business or Profession/Income from House Property/Capital Gains/Income from other Sources). You also need to provide the business or profession code.
14. Representative or Agent of the Application in India: Here, you need to provide the complete name and address of your representative or agent.
15. Documents Required: Mention the names of the documents submitted as proof of identity (POI) and proof of address (POA).
16. KYC Details: These details need to be filled out by Foreign Institutional Investors or Qualified Foreign Investors.
17. Declaration: This field requires your name, date, place, and signature/ left thumb impression.

Here is the list of acceptable documents that individuals and HUFs can submit along with Form 49AA:

Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card issued by the Government of India.

Other national/citizenship Identification Number/Taxpayer Identification Number duly attested by "Apostille" (in respect of countries which are signatories to the Hague Convention of 1961) or by the Indian Embassy/High Commission/Consulate in your country of residence.
For Proof of Address (Any one of these):

Person of Indian Origin (PIO) card issued by the Government of India.

Bank account statement in the country of residence.

NRE bank account statement in India.

Certificate of Residence in India or Residential Permit issued by the State Police Authorities.

Registration certificate issued by the Foreigner’s Registration Office showing an Indian address.

Visa granted, copy of appointment letter or contract from an Indian company, and certificate of Indian address issued by the employer (in original).
