What is PAN Form?
An alphanumeric identification with ten characters is called a permanent account number (PAN), issued in laminated card forms. PAN is provided to any person who applies for it by the Indian Income Tax Department. It is an identification number assigned to all taxpayers in India. It is a computerised system that records each person's or company's tax-related data against a single PAN number. It serves as the primary key for storing data and is used all around the nation. Hence no two tax-paying entities can have the same PAN numbers.

Can a person download their PAN card?
PAN applicants can now download their pdf of the PAN card form directly through UTIITSL's website. The facility of e-PAN download on the website is available only for the users,
- Who have applied for a new PAN or applied for the latest change/correction update with UTIITSL, and,
- Who have previously registered an active and valid mobile number OR email with their PAN record with the Income Tax department.
Users can only obtain a link to their e-PAN in PDF format from the website totally "free of cost" if their e-PAN was issued during the previous month as a result of a new PAN application or change/correction request.
