What is a PAN Card

A Permanent Account Number or PAN Card is used to identify taxpayers in India. PAN Card consists of 10-digit unique alphanumeric numbers. PAN Card is used to store all the tax-related information of an individual. PAN Card is issued by the tax department of India. Apart from the alphanumeric numbers the card also contains other information such as your name, date of birth, and photograph. PAN Card is issued for a lifetime for every tax paying individual in the country.

PAN Card Application Process

The process of applying for a PAN Card is quite simple. Here is a list of steps that you need to follow in order to apply for a PAN Card:

  • Visit nearest Muthoot Finance Branch.

Types of PAN Cards

Types of PAN Card Forms

There are basically two types of PAN Card forms Form 49A and Form 49AA.

  • Form 49A: Form 49A is supposed to be filled by Indian nationals. Minors and students can also apply for a PAN card by filling out Form 49A.
  • Form 49AA: Form 49AA is supposed to be filled by foreign nationals who wish to obtain a PAN card in India. Both the forms contain details like the Assessing Officer (AO) code, name, address, e-mail id, phone number, etc. of the applicant.
